Act 1 scene 3
The Frank family and the Van Dan are now living/ hiding together in the same house hiding from the Nazis so they wont go to the concentration camps. They try to keep each other positive. Anne still continues to rght in her diary and she is still in a good mood along with the other people in the Frank family. The Van Dans are not happy, Peter is miserable with his life and the parents do nothing to help him. I think that the will get though World War 2 but it will be long and hard from both families, but as long as they stay in the house and not let the Nazis see them.
Quote"Every time I hear that sound my heart stops". Mr Frank says this when ever the door bell rings because he thinks its the Nazi's looking to take them to concentration camps. He thinks that the Nazi's could come in at any second and want to take them to concentration camps . So they have to be careful and not make any noises and not leave the house |
Act 1 scenes 1 &2
The play starts off with a dark and frightening place. We meet the main characters Anne, Miep, Mr. Frank, Mrs Frank, Peter and some others. The play takes place in Amsterdam and the Netherlands Anne Frank is Jewish and is very nice, friendly. and very respectful. Their whole family is going through a tough time because they are living during World War 2 where the Jews were being killed by the Nazis. They were living in a big house but they couldn't make a lot of noise or go in the basement. This house is where they have to stay for the rest of the book. Everyone tries to help each other out. Peter has an idea that he will take off his David Star symbol so that he can not be recognized as a Jew. During scenes 1 & 2 everyone is worried and the book gets very interesting.
Quote "you won't have to wear those overshoes" Mr Frank says this when he is trying to comfort Anne when she wanted to leave but she would take the risk of getting caught. He tells her that she can never leave, then Anne gets upset |
